Job summary

U.S. Dermatology Partners in Fairfax, Virginia seeks an experienced Medical Assistant to support physicians in exams, procedures, minor surgery, patient care, and clinical operations within a fast-paced dermatology practice.

You will perform sterile field setup, administer injections per policy, document care and test results, coordinate appointments, and ensure HIPAA compliance while delivering compassionate, professional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during exams, sterile field set-up, procedures, and surgical cases.
• Prepares/administers medications and injections per policy (5 Rights, expiry verification) and may process refill requests under provider direction.
• Prepare patients for treatment, including histories and consent documentation.
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, injections, and suture removals.
• Prepare and stock exams rooms.
• Perform specimen handling and collection.
• Accurately document care, medications, test results, and procedures.
• Coordinate appointments, referrals, and testing.
• Maintain medical equipment and supplies; respond to in-clinic emergencies per protocol and documents per policy
• Uphold HIPAA, safety standards, and quality care protocols
• Performs proper infection control and biohazard waste disposal; supports CLIA-waived testing procedures as trained.
