Job description

We are a well-established medical aesthetics and plastic surgery practice on the Southern Coast of California. With locations in Carlsbad, Encinitas, San Juan Capistrano, and Rancho Bernardo, we offer a range of professional skincare and cosmetic treatments, including Botox, dermal fillers, laser skin rejuvenation, plastic surgery, and more.

We seek an experienced Medical Assistant with a positive attitude and exceptional interpersonal skills to join our team in Encinitas. We believe that building relationships is the key to our success. This professional will be responsible for assisting in a variety of aesthetic treatments. This role is vitally important in ensuring a superior patient experience in our clinics, so we are looking for that combination of strong interpersonal and clinical skills.

Job Summary:
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our physicians and staff to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care. You will assist with both clinical and administrative tasks, providing a seamless and efficient experience for our patients. This position is responsible for providing concierge level service to patients as they are preparing for treatment and assisting the medical team in delivering high-quality aesthetic treatments. Responsibilities include ensuring patients experience a smooth and efficient transition from front to back office, expertly and efficiently maximizing providers time to ensure optimal productivity, and educating patients on Dermacare treatment and product offerings to achieve optimal outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform various clinical procedures such as preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing equipment, preparation of patients, and assisting in treatments.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of treatment rooms and ensure necessary supplies and equipment are stocked, as needed.
  • Educate patients on excellent skin care and additional treatment options.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage, safe keeping, and ordering.
  • Actively promote the treatments, services, and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
  • Able to work independently and problem-solve the day-to-day functions and tasks in a solution-oriented manner.
  • Assist in all areas of front desk business operation and/or back office clinical operation as requested by management and/or medical director.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be detail-oriented and have ability to multi-task.
  • Must have the ability to be efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Must be a team player, take initiative to do what needs to be done without resistance or question.

Education and Experience Required:
High school diploma required. Vocational / Technical training preferred. One (1) to two (2) years previous experience in the aesthetics industry. Proven track record for developing and retaining client relationships.

Pay Range: $22-$24 per hour + commission
