Job description

Job Title: Medical Assistant (Virtual) - NOT a remote position.

Salary: $21-$24 per hour

Location: Tustin (In-Person)

Openings: 1) Position Available

Reports to: Clinical Operations Manager

Position Purpose: To assist providers with patient care and perform medical assistant duties as needed.

Core Duties and responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  • Performs “Full” intake process for each patient virtually. (Check-in, check-out, vital collection, surveys, care gaps, mobile blood draws, etc.)
  • Verifies, collects, and logs patient demographics, medical history, allergies, medication usage, and chief compliant into the electronic health record system.
  • Perform quality vital collection and lab draw, handling and storage of specimens in accordance to regulatory trainings, including EZIZ training as well as others.
  • Provide quality customer service in the process to all patients.
  • Reviews patients’ chief complaint and prepares a medical chart for medical providers to use during a visit.
  • Orders on-site testing, labs, referrals, authorizations, and procedures per provider’s order.
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical
  • records and other patient information according privacy policies and HIPAA standards.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
  • Follows standards and procedures outlined in the employee manual.
  • Keeps inventory stocked with medical assistant supplies needed to perform all tasks: (vital collection supplies, lab draw supplies, equipment supplies, etc.)
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns an ultimately fixing any issues in conjunction with a supervisor.
  • Minimizes tardiness and absences and remain in good standing with all other employee manual regulations.
  • Report to off site location for work as needed. (Be available to travel for work)
  • Be available to work weekends and/or extended hours in order to complete duties as assigned.
  • Accurately reports expenses such as mileage incurred via an expense report to a supervisor.

Education And Training

  • Completion of a certified Medical Assistant training program.
  • CPR Certification
  • Phlebotomy Certification preferred

Qualifications, Skills, And Experience

  • Bilingual: Spanish (Required)
  • Must excel in multitasking within a high-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills, acute attention to detail, confident and professional communication.
  • Knowledgeable in general EMR/EHR systems is preferred.
  • Front and Back Office experience (Required).
  • Insurance Verification experience (Required).

Schedule

  • We are currently seeking a closer available Monday through Friday from 8:45 AM to 5:45 PM, with a rotating Saturday schedule. This requires working 1-2 Saturdays per month from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • Medical Assistants for the Virtual Clinic are scheduled for Back Office shifts at one of our other clinics to provide support. These shifts are 2 hours long and take place 1-2 days per week.
