Job summary

Favorite Healthcare Staffing Inc. is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join an expanding orthopedic outpatient group in Catonsville, MD. This full-time position offers a competitive pay up to $21/hour with full benefits.

You will prepare patients for visits, document medical histories in the EMR, take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, and assist with DME and imaging coordination. A fast-paced, professional environment is expected and travel to nearby Columbia is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of Medical Assistant or Orthopedic Assistant experience in a physician office.
• Certification as a medical assistant (CMA) or registered through NCCT/NHA/AAMA/AMT.
• Thrives in a fast-paced setting and maintains professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits by assessing reason for visit and documenting medical history in the EMR.
• Obtain patient vital signs and administer direct patient care (phlebotomy, specimen collection, injections, wound care, laser therapy, DME).
• Fit patients with braces, boots or other DME as ordered by the provider.
• Maintain workflow and scan documents into the EMR; schedule MRI, CT, labs and other tests.
• Keep treatment and cast rooms stocked, clean, and organized; assist with instrument cleaning.

Job Description

This Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing patient(s) to see the physician by assessing the reason for visit and documenting past and present medical history into the EMR.

Duties

• Obtaining patient vital signs
• Provides direct patient care; including but not limited to phlebotomy, specimen collection, injection preparation, wound care, laser therapy, and DME
• Fit patients with braces, boots, other DME as ordered by provider
• Maintains consistent workflow, scans documents into the EMR
• Schedule MRI, CT scans, labs, and other tests
• Keeps treatment and cast rooms orderly by stocking supplies, cleaning rooms and cleaning instruments

Requirements

• At least (2) years of recent Medical Assistant or Orthopedic Assistant experience in a physician office setting; ortho experience a plus!
• Certified as medical nationally or plus registered (Through a program such as: NCCT, NHA, AAMA, AMT, etc.)
