Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support dermatology teams in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will room patients, document vitals, assist the dermatologist, perform routine bedside care, and help with post-op wound management and specimen collection.

Essential duties include scribing, managing appointments, and coordinating patient flow across multiple procedures such as biopsies and Mohs-related steps. Strong organizational and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity.
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus.
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations.
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems.
• Must possess organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information.

• Drawing blood and suture removal.
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: Surgical photographs, Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave, Excisions, Electrodessication and curettage, I&D, Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, Phototherapy, Injections, Koh preps, Trichograms, Tzank preps, Dermabrasion, Patch testing, Blue light.

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
