Your Job:

Our Medical Assistant NCT works under the general direction of the physician with the assistance of the clinical coordinator if applicable; reports directly to the office manager. You will provide health care to individuals and families as instructed by the physician; performs routine clinical procedures as directed by the physician; participates in patient education; enters appropriate documentation into patients’ health record; performs all other duties assigned within the scope of your certification.

Your Job Requirements:

  1. 1-3 years healthcare related experience in your field.
  2. Customer service experience preferred.
  3. Current approved medical assistant credential or credential obtained within 90 days of hire.
  4. Current NCT permit through the Texas Medical Board.

Your Job Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains strict patient confidentiality, and will use complete discretion when discussing patient information.
  2. Implements patient care and patient follow-up to include the notification of lab results under, tasking messages, phone calls, and updating patient information under the guidance and direction of all physicians and/or practice manager.
  3. May perform intramuscular, intradermal or subcutaneous injections with complete documentation.
  4. Assists physicians and/or MAs in providing nursing care to patients in accordance with clinic policies and procedures.
  5. Takes patient history and vitals.
  6. Demonstrates an extensive working knowledge and practice of infection control procedures.
  7. Cleans and disinfects all instruments and maintains QA reports for the autoclave.
  8. Autoclaving weekly or biweekly depending on demand.
  9. Performs all nurse/injection only visits with appropriate documentation.
  10. Performs all X-rays and PFT.
  11. Prepares FMLA forms and various documents that come in for physician review and signature, e.g., home health, prescription pre-certs.
  12. Performs other job duties as assigned.
