Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is hiring a Medical Assistant to support dermatology providers in our Naperville and Crest Hill, IL locations. The role involves rooming patients, assisting with procedures, and handling post-op wound care while ensuring a friendly, efficient patient experience.

Qualifications include CMA/LPN/RN credentials (Forefront Derm Tech training if needed), with 1+ year medical office experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum post-high-school education in a medical support field.
• Certification as CMA, LPN or RN preferred; Forefront Derm Tech cert within time frame if non-certified.
• Ability to travel to other clinic locations as needed.

This is a full time position with travel to our Naperville and Crest Hill, IL location:

Monday - Thursday 5:45a-3:00p

Friday 5:45a-2:00p

Saturday - 6:30a-1:00p - rotating

Summary:

The Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team

For this position, the base pay range is $18.00 - $21.00 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education, certification, or training.
