Job summary

Forefront Dermatology in Glenview, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant for a part-time role. Schedule includes Tue 8:00a-5:00p, Thu 9:00a-5:00p, Fri 8:00a-3:00p, and once-a-month Sat 7:00a-12:00p. The MA will accompany the dermatologist, room patients, and support a friendly, efficient clinic environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Base pay range is $19.00–$21.00 per hour. Benefits include health/dental/vision, HSA with $500 match, PTO/holiday pay, life and disability coverage, 401K,

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office (preferred).
• Certified Medical Assistant; DERM Tech a plus.
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses or registrations.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies - punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team

For this position, the base pay range is $19.00 - $21.00 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education, certification, or training
