Job summary

Evolve Orthopedic Partners is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our orthopedic practice in Syracuse, NY. The role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, supporting patients throughout registration, exams, and follow-ups with a strong emphasis on accuracy and patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, relevant certification or degree, 1–3 years of medical experience, and excellent communication and data-entry skills. CPR/BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistance Certification or Degree in the Sciences preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong data entry skills.
• CPR/BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients promptly and professionally.
• Assisting patients with the registration process including collecting required patient information and medical history.
• Preparing the patient for the exam by performing preliminary tests as needed.
• Reporting relevant information to the provider.
• Assisting the provider with patient care as requested.
• Performing scribe duties, as needed.
• Reviewing treatment procedures with patients.
• Assisting in ordering tests/retrieving results.
• Reviewing discharge instructions.
• Bracing & brace measurements under supervision.
• Collecting patient payments and scheduling follow up appointments.
• Balancing and closing a journal each day, when applicable.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Other responsibilities as needed.

• Preparing the patient for the exam by performing preliminary tests, as needed;

• Assisting the provider with patient care as requested;

• Reviewing treatment procedures with patients;
• Assisting in ordering tests/retrieving results;
• Reviewing discharge instructions;

• Collecting any patient payments and scheduling follow up appointments, if required;
• Balancing and closing a journal each day, when applicable;
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality and complies with HIPAA standards;
