Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) for Chowchilla, CA. The role involves supporting physicians with patient exams, recording vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and handling both clinical and administrative tasks in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted CA license/certification for Medical Assistant position.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year related work experience within the last 3 years.
• Additional certifications may be required (e.g., BLS, immunization records, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information.
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures.
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as specimen collection, injections, wound care, and medication administration as permitted by state regulations.
• Schedule appointments, maintain patient records, and perform other administrative duties as needed.
• Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care instructions.
• Ensure examination rooms, equipment, and supplies are clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Follow infection control practices, safety protocols, and facility policies.

Shift Details

• 40 hours/week
• Mon-Friday 7am-330pm

Medical Assistant Duties & Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted CA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year related work experience within the last 3 years.
• Additional certifications may be required.
• Copy of current, completedPrimary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
