Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. in Delano, CA seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient examinations and procedures, and to document vital signs and histories. You will prepare patients for care and perform basic clinical tasks under state regulations.

Qualifications

• CA license/certification in good standing required.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year related work experience within the last 3 years.
• Additional certifications may be required.
• PSV from licensing board may be required.
• Current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information.
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures.
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as specimen collection, injections, wound care, and medication administration as permitted by state regulations.
• Schedule appointments, maintain patient records, and perform other administrative duties as needed.
• Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care instructions.
• Ensure examination rooms, equipment, and supplies are clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Follow infection control practices, safety protocols, and facility policies.

• Additional certifications may be required.
• Copy of current, completedPrimary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
