Job summary

Grider Support Services, LLC is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our ambulatory team in Buffalo, NY. This full-time position supports nurses and providers by rooming patients, taking vitals, processing specimens, and maintaining EMR records with strong patient communication.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by rooming them and recording vital signs and medical history.
• Perform routine lab tests and collect specimens.
• Maintain accurate records in EMR and paper files.
• Answer calls and triage clinical needs with clinicians.
• Obtain insurance information and demographics.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper stock of medical supplies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Participate in staff meetings and development.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our ambulatory team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our medical staff. Job Duties

• Prepares patient for examinations by rooming patient, taking vital signs, height/weight, reason for visit, screenings, and recording medical histories
• Performs routine lab tests and collects and labels laboratory specimens
• Maintains accurate patient records in electronic health record (EMR) system as well as any paper files. Assist as needed with locating charts/pulling charts for the next day appointments or printing information from EMR and acquiring reports from outside facilities.
• Assists with answers and direct phone calls, addressing patient inquiries and questions. Will redirect call to nurse/provider to note and triage urgent matters or other clinical needs.
• Obtains patients insurance information, demographics, and prior authorizations for testing.
• Ensures cleanliness of patient rooms, stocks and reorganizes medical supplies and manages inventory
• Ensures patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Participates in staff development and staff meetings
• Provide excellent customer service with professionalism and strong interpersonal skills to ensure a positive experience for patients, vendors, and other healthcare team members
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalency
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, required within 90 days of service
• Certification as a Medical Assistant, preferred

Experience

• 1 year experience as a medical assistant in an ambulatory care setting, preferred
• Proficient in performing clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, updating patient chart information and recording other medical data
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families and healthcare team members
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other healthcare technology
• Critical thinking, time management, strong communication, problem-solving, and ability to handle various clinical situations.
