We are currently hiring a part-time (32 hours) Medical Assistant to work in our Frankfort location
Summary

This position is responsible for performing daily administrative and clinical duties to facilitate efficient operations in an outpatient clinic setting. This position provides support in providing safe, quality care and customer service to patients, physicians/providers and other members in the clinical care teams.

Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to exam rooms on a timely basis and inform team members of delays.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, triage for radiologic studies, cast removal, etc.
  • Assist physicians during patient examinations.
  • Evaluate wound care needs and provide patient education.
  • Apply and remove splints/casts as needed.
  • Process prescriptions and educate patients on medication side effects.
  • Prepare injectable medications and equipment.
  • Coordinate referrals for ongoing services.
  • Act as a liaison for patient issues and resolve problems.
  • Maintain infection control standards and restock supplies.
  • Support patient care activities such as patient flow management, assisting with walking/transfers, collecting specimens, and charting.
Physician Liaison Activities
  • Respond to calls, determine appropriate responses, and resolve issues.
  • Secure and discuss diagnostic and therapy reports with physicians.
  • Complete chart notes and assist with coding and documentation.
Appointment Scheduling
  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments, including special needs cases.
  • Review and prepare medical charts for physician review.
Correspondence
  • Handle prescriptions, insurance updates, and various forms for patients.
  • Manage patient records, lab reports, and other documentation.
Support Activities
  • Prepare clinical charts prior to appointments.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked.
  • Notify management of supply needs.
Operational
  • Learn new systems and respond to patient inquiries and complaints.
  • Maintain professional appearance and participate in in-service training.
  • Promote patient rights and respond to emergency codes.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program is a plus.
  • Maintain CPR certification.
  • Experience in orthopedic healthcare is preferred.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of practice management and EHR software, Microsoft Office, and Google products.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
  • Full range of motion, handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination.
  • Standing and walking involved.
  • Occasional lifting up to 35 lbs.

Salary ranges from $18-$25/hour based on education and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, wellness programs, paid time off, and more.
