Job summary

Premise Health in Boston, MA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for our Back Bay Health Center. Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with no nights or weekends, offering a strong work-life balance and comprehensive benefits.

You will support clinical care, handle vital signs, take patient histories, manage records, and assist at front desk to ensure smooth operations. Ideal candidates hold national Medical Assistant certification or a state-approved certificate with hands-on externship, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization or a accredited Medical Assistant program with hands-on externship.
• Current certification with hands-on training in Basic Life Support for health care providers.
• State Lab Certificate (NV only).
• MA certifications from recognized bodies (e.g., CMA) where applicable.
• Prior Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs including pulse, temp, BP, weight and height.
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accuracy.
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• Administers medications and performs tests including EKGs as allowed.
• Performs front desk duties, schedules appointments, and orders supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

As a Full-Time Medical Assistant, you’ll provide exceptional care to client employees at our Health Center in Boston, MA, locatedin the heart of Back Bay. This is a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule with no nights or weekends, allowing you to enjoy your evenings and weekends while maintaining a great work-life balance.

The ideal candidate will be confident performing blood draws and have a strong customer-service focus, providing a welcoming and positive experience for every patient. You’ll be part of a professional, patient-focused environment where clinical excellence and exceptional service are equally valued.

What You’ll Do

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations
• Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed- total online courses are not accepted
• Current certification with hands on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
• State Lab Certificate (NV only)
• CMA certification required from the American Association of Medical Assistants, the National Center of Competency Testing, the National Certification Medical Association, American Medical Technologists, or any other recognized certifying body approved by the Board of Medical Examiners (South Carolina only)
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
