Job summary

Grace Medical Center in Baltimore is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Ambulatory Services with administrative and clinical tasks. The MA will take adult and pediatric vital signs, draw blood, document in the EHR, and assist staff and patients throughout the patient visit.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited MA program, hold BLS through the American Heart Association, and have at least two years of experience with strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administrative and clinical support to Ambulatory Services.
• Take adult and pediatric vital signs (height, weight, BP, vision); perform venipuncture as needed.
• Document patient information in the electronic health record.
• Interact with administrative staff, medical staff, and patients to ensure smooth visits.

Job description

Under direction of the Practice Manager, the Medical Assistant (MA) provides day-to-day administrative, direct patient care and clinical support to the Ambulatory Services department through administrative and medical/nursing support. The MA must have the ability to take adult and pediatric basic vital signs including height and weight, blood pressure, visual acuity, color vision, and draw blood accurately. They must be able to document information in the electronic health record. The individual performing this job routinely interacts with administrative, medical staff, other GMC departmental staff and patients.

Employment Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Must have BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Certified Medical Assistant required
• 2+ years of experience required
• Must have customer service skills, including verbal and written communications, adaptable, organized, problem solver, communication skills, good listener, compassionate, non-judgmental, & self-control.

Pay Range: $20.00 to $27.29 Based On Experience
