Job summary

Western NC Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a part-time three-day work week (Mon, Tue, Wed) with 8 hours per day, in Asheville, NC. MAs performing direct patient care may earn a quarterly bonus up to $500 by meeting quality and productivity measures.

The role involves clinical duties under supervision, phlebotomy, room setup, vaccinations, vitals, EKGs, wound care, and precepting new staff.

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant - highly desirable.
  • One (1) year as medical assistant in an outpatient health care setting.
  • Postsecondary technical course(s) helpful, but not required.
  • Medical Assisting education strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs and Electronic Health Records systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical duties under the direction of a physician, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse.
  • Perform phlebotomy, and process specimens for patients of all ages.
  • Set up medical examination rooms, prepare and administer medications and vaccines.
  • Obtain vital signs and patient information.
  • Obtain EKGs, assist with wound care and minor surgical procedures (e.g., removal of benign cyst).
  • Serve as a preceptor for new staff.
  • Assist in administrative duties as needed, including handling calls.

We are looking for a full-time Certified Medical Assistant. We recognize the hard work and initiative of our Medical Assistants (MAs). MAs providing direct patient care may earn a quarterly bonus up to $500 by meeting or exceeding quality and productivity measures.

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to work (3) days per week: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for (8) hours per day.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform clinical duties under the direction of a physician, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse
  • Perform phlebotomy, and process specimens for patients of all ages
