Job summary

Western North Carolina Community Health Services is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to support clinicians at Minnie Jones Health Center in Asheville. The MA will provide direct patient care, document in the electronic health record, and contribute to a positive, efficient clinic environment.

The position is a day shift (Mon–Fri, 7:30 am–6 pm) with mileage to cover clinic duties. We offer comprehensive benefits, holiday and PTO accrual, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
• Current Basic Life Support certificate is required.
• Experience documenting patient care in an electronic health record.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare professionals with direct patient care.
• Support clinical operations during daytime clinic hours (Mon–Fri, 7:30 am–6 pm).
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
• Collaborate with team to meet quality and productivity targets.

Minnie Jones Health Center (MJHC)- 257 Biltmore Ave, Asheville, NC 28801

Our clinics are only open during the day, Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm.

Therefore, MAs are not required toto work evenings, nights, weekends or WNCCHS observed holidays.

We recognize the hard work and initiative of our Medical Assistants (MAs). MAs providing direct patient care may earn a quarterly bonus up to $500 by meeting or exceeding quality and productivity measures.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Medical Assistant, required
• One year experience as Medical Assistant in an outpatient health care setting, preferrable
• Current Basic Life Support Certificate, required
• Experience documenting patient care in an electronic health record
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work well in a team
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
