Job summary

SilvaMD Anti-Aging & Wellness in Chula Vista, CA, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support physicians with clinical and administrative tasks, focusing on patient care. The role is onsite with standard hours (Mon-Thu 8am-5pm, Fri 8am-3pm).

Responsibilities include assisting in procedures, patient prep, teaching, rooming, scribing, and blood draws for cosmetic treatments. Qualifications include phlebotomy certification and 1+ year experience in a medical spa, dermatology, or plastic

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification is required.
• 1+ years of experience in a medical spa, dermatology, or plastic surgery office is a plus.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide care according to physician’s instruction and established standards to maintain patient health.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative teaching for patients and families.
• Assist during surgery or procedures as indicated.
• Set up for surgery including prep area, sterile drapes, instruments.
• Scrub in as assistant to surgeons and hand instruments.
• Keep operative area clean and organized and maintain records and documentation.
• Room patients and complete intake including obtaining HPI; assist with exams and note details.
• Draw blood when needed for cosmetic procedures and label samples.
• Enter sample information into the database and dispose of instruments properly.

SilvaMD Anti-Aging & Wellness, one of our valued partners, is looking for a Medical Assistant to join their fast-growing, state-of-the-art clinic located in Chula Vista, CA. The Medical Assistant supports the physician by performing a combination of clinical and administrative tasks, with a primary focus on patient care.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position. The role is onsite with standard working hours (Monday to Thursday, 8am-5pm, and Fridays 8am-3pm). We believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance while ensuring business needs are met.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care according to physician’s instruction and in accordance with recognized techniques and procedures and established standards and policies to maintain the health and general well-being of the patient.


• Provide preoperative and postoperative teaching for both patient and family members.


• Provide assistance during surgery or other procedures as indicated.


• Set up the patient for surgery including prepping area, draping with sterile drapes, setting up a clean tray with anesthesia, and preparing instruments.


• Scrub in as assistant to the surgeons.


• Hand instruments and cut sutures, keep the operative area clean and organized.


• Prepare equipment and paperwork for surgery.


• Maintain appropriate records and documentation.


• Rooming & completing patient intake/obtaining HPI.


• Scribing while assisting with exams; attention to detail is key.


• Draw blood from patients when needed for cosmetic procedures.


• Label sterile containers for other samples, such as urine, and instruct patients on proper collection procedures.


• Enter sample information into a database.


• Assemble, maintain, and dispose of medical instruments such as needles, test tubes, and blood vials.


• Keep work areas and equipment clean and sanitary.

Qualifications:

• Phlebotomy certification.


• 1 or more years of experience in a medical spa, dermatology, or plastic surgery office is a plus.


• Excellent communication skills and follow-through.


• Excellent customer service with a patient focus.

Compensation:

The salary for this position ranges from $20-$25/hour, depending on experience.
