Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant to greet and guide patients, prepare exam rooms, and support providers with histories, vitals, injections, and dressings. You’ll ensure accurate records for coding and triage calls while maintaining sterile environments.

The role requires a High School diploma (or equivalent) and preferred Medical Assistant certification, with experience using Electronic Medical Records.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Formal training or certification as a medical assistant (preferred).
  • Experience, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes patients by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
  • Prepares patients for visit by accompanying them to exam room, providing gowns, and arranging instruments and supplies.
  • Assists providers in treatment by obtaining histories and vitals, preparing injections, setting up sterile fields, removing sutures, and changing dressings.
  • Applies casts and DME as necessary.
  • Verifies patients’ medical records are complete and accurate for coding purposes.
  • Triage patient calls and physician messages.
  • Maintains exam rooms with adequate supplies and proper sterilization.
  • Prepares patient charts before arrival.
  • Schedules follow-up appointments, initial therapy visits, and MRI appointments.
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent
