Position Summary:
As a Medical Assistant Associate(MAA) for University Health and Counseling, you will have the unique opportunity to provide care for U of M students, faculty, and staff. Not only will you have the ability to showcase your skills as a MAA, you will also have an opportunity to build strong relationships with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. You will play an integral role within the University, and specifically within UHC. Medical Assistants are frontline in providing the highest quality care for students and other UM affiliated patients. Position Responsibilities Criteria (leadership and behavioral qualities expected in this position):
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position. Available to work 8 hour shifts between 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday and Saturday and Sunday rotation working 9:00 AM -1:00 PM as needed. Summer and some holiday hours change with no Saturday rotations. Must be able to work occasional overtime, based on patient care needs. Standards of practice for patient services offered by staff within this job family, have the potential to include care offered via telehealth.
Physical Requirements:
Able to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time, and move and transport objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
