University Radiology, the largest provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in NJ, is comprised of over 180 Board Certified radiologists with advanced U.S.-based training and expertise in all modalities and all subspecialty areas. In operation for more than 60 years, University Radiology staffs, manages and provides preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations and consultative support for hospitals, imaging centers, and other medical facilities. It also serves as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Our physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures per year.

Responsibilities

The Radiological Scheduler will be required to work an 8-hour day-time shift with varying start times based on department needs.

1. Answer a high volume of calls, working toward the goal of 9-10 calls per hour in a professional and courteous manner.
2. Schedule appointments for all modalities; coordinate scheduling and rescheduling for all imaging offices, making every effort to keep the workload balanced across locations.
3. Ensure that signs and symptoms match the ordered exam; refer to an office tech for assistance if needed.
4. Make sure the patient understands the necessary preparations and inform them of any required lab tests; confirm the office location/address with the caller.
5. Obtain current insurance information and be familiar with the requirements of different insurance companies. Make patients aware of potential needs for referrals and pre-certification.
6. Stay informed about changing insurance requirements. Use the Insurance Matrix to determine plan participation.
7. Document patient interactions with notes supporting the conversation during the call.
