Job summary

International SOS Government Medical Services is seeking a part-time Medical Appointment Scheduler (PRN) in Tampa, FL. The role involves coordinating patient appointments within a military healthcare environment and supporting daily clinic operations with professional customer service.

The position uses CHCS, AHLTA, and MHS GENESIS to manage schedules, verify eligibility via DEERS, and maintain accurate patient records. Work hours are 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least six months of experience in an office setting.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments by phone, secure messaging, and other approved scheduling methods.
• Maintain appointment schedules using government healthcare systems (CHCS, AHLTA, or MHS GENESIS).
• Verify patient eligibility through DEERS and register eligible patients when required.
• Maintain accurate schedules and logs, monitor appointment availability, and process appointment changes with established tools and protocols.
• Contact patients regarding scheduling, reminders, cancellations, and rescheduling needs.
• Create and route telephone consultation messages (T-CONs) to primary care managers and clinic nursing staff.
