Arthrex, Inc. in Naples, Florida, invites an intern pursuing or recent graduate with an Animation degree to join the Medical Animation team. You will help create anatomically accurate 3D models and medical animations for education, training, and product communication.

The role focuses on the full 3D animation pipeline, including concept, modelling, texturing, and Unreal Engine-based environments, under close supervision.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a college degree in Animation.
• A college junior or above is required; recent grads must be within six months of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Participate in training sessions to understand surgical techniques and product animations.
• Create animation content from concept to final production in the 3D pipeline.
• Assist in creating organic and hard-surface 3D models with textures and materials.

Arthrex, Inc.is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Medical Animation team in Naples, Florida is responsible for visually communicating the science behind the medical technology created at Arthrex. We are seeking an intern who is currently pursuing or has recently completed a degree in Animation to join our Medical Animation team. The selected candidate will contribute to the creation of anatomically and clinically accurate 3D models and animations that support medical education, training, and product communication. The individual will follow standards and guidelines for consistent corporate identity and will be detail oriented in the execution of their work. This internship will run from May 2027 – August 2027. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

Main Objective:

To gain real-world experience creating 3D models and animation content.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in training sessions to develop an understanding of surgical techniques, product demonstrations, camera movements, and medical product animations.
• Create animation content by contributing to all stages of the 3D animation pipeline, from concept development through final production.
• Assist in the creation of both organic and hard-surface 3D models, including the development of associated textures and materials.
• Support the animation team in designing, building, and optimizing interactive environments within Unreal Engine.

Education and Experience:

Progress towards a college degree in Animation required. A college junior or above required. (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

• Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects and Maya required.
• Experience with ZBrush, 3D Substance Painter or other 3D technologies is preferred.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy is preferred.
• Be able to follow written and verbal direction.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.

A portfolio demonstrating relevant animation and 3D modeling work is required.
