Job summary

Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services in Lincoln, NE is seeking an Accountant II to join the Medicaid Drug Rebate (MDR) team. You will perform accounting activities, process documents, and support MDR audits to help maximize program efficiency.

The role requires a strong eye for detail, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to collaborate with MDR staff and drug labelers. On-site work hours are Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting/finance/business/admin or related field and experience with accounting/financial management systems OR 2 years’ experience with professional accounting procedures including developing and modifying accounting/financial management systems.
• Proficiency in Excel/Microsoft Office products; familiarity with state/federal accounting practices is a plus.
• Experience with state systems such as OnBase/Enterprise 1 is helpful for this position.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting activities for the Medicaid Drug Rebate (MDR) program handling large annual rebate figures.
• Process inbound mail, file, scan and log documents for MDR workflows.
• Enter journals, run MDR audits, compile monthly/quarterly/ad-hoc reports and manage payments.
