Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks an Information Technology Business Analyst II to join the Encounters and File Support team in Austin. The role focuses on Medicaid encounters data, interface file support, and coordination with MCOs, TMHP, and IT to enhance MES functionality.

The ideal candidate will perform complex business analysis, provide guidance on policies, and support readiness reviews for vendor deliveries, while working under general supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in technical leadership, project management, or account management.
• At least seven years of relevant professional experience, including three years leading technical initiatives or managing projects/customers.
• Experience in systems or business analysis.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, assess, and manage data issues related to Medicaid encounters; develop agendas and facilitate meetings.
• Represent Encounters unit with MCOs, TMHP, IT and stakeholders; gather and document user requirements for automation.
• File support and coordination of operational files; prepare diagrams and flow charts for system interface tracking.
• Provide SME and technical assistance for readiness reviews; ensure vendor contract compliance.
• Communicate with supervisor on challenging problems and provide actionable recommendations.
