Jackson County, NC is seeking an Income Maintenance Caseworker to determine eligibility for Medicaid programs, including intake, processing, and case maintenance in the Family and Children's Medicaid unit. The role requires careful interview techniques and accurate data handling.

The starting salary ranges from $33,836.51 to $37,304.75 with a standard 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, and occasional after-hours work as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of related experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend Medicaid rules and policy changes.
• Ability to interpret policies for people of diverse backgrounds.
• Accurate data entry and documentation in NCFAST and case files.

Responsabilités

• Conduct intake interviews to assess needs and collect information.
• Inform applicants about rights, appeals, re-application eligibility, and agency responsibilities.
• Complete recertifications and changes per guidelines and policies.
• Utilize the NCFAST computer system for case processing.
• Adhere to deadlines and complete mandated paperwork.
• Attend training workshops and perform other duties as assigned.
