Job summary

6 Degrees Search seeks a Medicaid Eligibility Project Manager to keep complex eligibility work on track from plan to go-live. You will align state leaders, vendors, and delivery teams, surface risks early, and ensure members keep coverage they qualify for.

You will lead planning for system changes, policy implementations, and operational improvements, coordinating across agencies and contractors to meet deadlines and budget constraints.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience across large multi-stakeholder technology or policy implementations.
• 3+ years of Medicaid eligibility, enrollment, or public assistance programs experience.
• Experience with state agencies, vendors, and federal requirements.
• Strong planning, RAID management, and reporting skills using MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar tools.
• Experience with Agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery approaches.
• Clear, calm communication with executives, policy experts, and technical teams.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage Medicaid eligibility and enrollment projects, including system changes and operational improvements.
• Build and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, and milestones across state agency, vendor, and delivery teams.
• Manage risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and decisions through a RAID log, escalating early and clearly.
• Lead implementation of new federal and state requirements, including CMS provisions and more frequent renewals, within deadlines.
• Coordinate with eligibility system vendors, managed care organizations, and adjacent programs.
• Facilitate status meetings, steering committees, and working sessions; document decisions and action items.
• Prepare status reports and executive briefings on progress, risks, and decisions needed.
• Manage project scope, change requests, and budget against contract and funding requirements, including federal funding documentation.
• Support testing, readiness, training, and go-live planning so changes land smoothly for eligibility staff and members.
