Job summary

Ensemble is seeking a healthcare financial counselor to interview uninsured/under-insured patients and determine Medicaid eligibility. The role is on-site at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA, with incentives, tuition reimbursement, and certifications offered.

Responsibilities include coordinating applications, communicating with patients for required documents, and ensuring timely billing or adjustments. Minimum 1–2 years in healthcare and CRCR within 9 months are required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in healthcare industry, interacting with patients regarding hospital financial issues.

Responsibilities

• Review uninsured/under-insured patients for program eligibility opportunities and coordinate the application process.
• Communicate with patients to obtain documents needed for the application.
• Follow submitted applications to determination point and ensure timely billing/adjustment posting.
• Document all actions and communications in patient accounting systems.
• Maintain knowledge of state and federal program requirements and share with colleagues.
• Build relationships with Medicaid caseworkers and collaborate with revenue cycle departments.
