Job summary

The Agency for Health Care Administration in Tallahassee seeks a Government Analyst II to advance Florida’s Medicaid program through advanced analytics, forecasting, and data integrity work. This role focuses on technical leadership for expenditure and caseload forecasting, building robust models in R, and delivering reliable financial insights.

The candidate will validate data, manage ad hoc requests, and communicate findings to leadership, reporting to MPF in a fast-paced team setting.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional experience related to mathematics, budgeting, accounting, financial analysis, statistical analysis, or research.
• Two years of professional experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.
• One year of professional experience writing official documents for state and federal requirements.
• Two years of experience related to budgeting or forecasting.
• Two years of experience working with R and Tableau, or other statistical analysis software to manipulate and analyze a multi-million record administrative database.
• Preference given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in related fields.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for Expenditure and Caseload forecasting models.
• Architect, develop, and maintain complex R scripts for forecasting models.
• Modernize analytical workflows to ensure robust, defensible projections.
• Apply advanced statistical knowledge to design financial allocation models and forecast expenditures.
• Perform forensic data analysis to identify anomalies and errors before final reporting.
• Collect and analyze data for quarterly and annual state and federal reports.
• Fill ad hoc requests for Agency leadership and manage stakeholder communications.
