Job summary

Asbury Communities in Gaithersburg, MD seeks a Long-Term Care Medicaid Specialist to manage Medicaid applications, pending cases, and patient liability aging. You will collaborate with clinical and billing teams to ensure compliant and timely submissions, update income changes, and support collections activities.

The role requires 2–5 years of Medicaid experience, strong MS Office skills, and a detail-oriented, strategic thinker able to navigate complex processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of related work experience.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience with a computerized accounting system.
• 2–5 years of Medicaid application experience.
• High level of accountability, detail orientation and organization.
• Ability to think strategically and implement efficiencies.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Comfort with technology and various software platforms.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Serve as Medicaid subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with state and county guidelines.
• Oversee Medicaid and Benevolent Care application, reapplication, and approval processes across Asbury Communities.
• Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
• Review Medicaid Pending and Patient Liability aging and support collections activities.
• Create, review, and maintain policies related to the Medicaid application process.
