Qualifications

• 1 year medical collections experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a hospital business office department.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and complete account follow-up.
• Resolve claim processing issues promptly with carriers and payers, following policies and procedures.
• Review assigned claims for timely follow-up and maintain/update patient accounts.
• Assess accounts for balance, payer plan, billing accuracy, denials, and make necessary adjustments.
• Resolve claim processing issues by reviewing claim inventories, payments and adjustments to ensure proper discounts and secondary billing as needed.
• Document all activity in patient account notes.
• Handle assigned correspondence related to accounts.
• Perform other duties professionally and accurately.
