• Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim submissions, adjustments, and collections for audit purposes.
• Stay current with changes in medical coding guidelines, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations to ensure compliance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical billing with a strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and coding practices.
• Familiarity with DRG, CPT coding, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems is essential.
• Knowledge of medical billing processes including claim submission, follow-up, appeals, and collections.
• Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for accurate data entry and record keeping.
• Familiarity with HIPAA claim formats, notably the UB04 and HCFA-1500 paper forms
• Ability to interpret medical records accurately and apply appropriate codes consistently.
