Job summary

The State of Missouri MO HealthNet Division is seeking an Agency Budget Senior Analyst in the Budget Unit at Cole County. The role supports budget development, financial tracking, and liaison tasks to implement innovative financial strategies for MO HealthNet.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare policy and the state budget process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience (substitutions may be allowed).
• Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills; self-starter, detail oriented and motivated to lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in annual budget preparation.
• Participate in fund analysis of federal and state funds; assist with revenue projection analysis and forecast fund surpluses and shortfalls; prepare financial projections and assist with developing recommendations.
• Prepare expenditure analysis and projections for MHD. Analyze assigned budget and accounting reports and recommend budgetary and allocation adjustments as needed.
• Work with appropriate staff to prepare, review, and analyze fiscal notes for proposed legislation.
• Track legislation and appropriation bills for MHD and attend legislative hearings.
• Respond to requests from the Office of Administration, House, and Senate analysts, as needed.
• Coordinate special projects and tasks, as needed.
