Job summary

Old Southwest Health and Rehabilitation seeks a Medicaid Coordinator to supervise and coordinate business office functions under the Administrator's direction, ensuring accurate reporting and compliant billing practices.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Business or related long-term care experience, 3+ years in the field, and supervisory capabilities with strong English communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or relevant experience in long-term care.
• Minimum of three (3) years related experience.
• One (1) to two (2) years management/supervisory experience; office management experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; Internet/Intranet navigation.
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and work well in a team.
• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, plus organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative.
• Ability to deal with new tasks without written procedures.

Responsibilities

• Meet physical and sensory requirements and work in the described environment.
• Prepare and submit reports on a timely basis as required by Administrator and authorities.
• Maintain vital statistics on admissions, discharges, deaths, transfers and daily census.
• Prepare and submit monthly resident billings for services.
• Bill Medicaid, Medicare and other insurances; follow up on delinquent payments.
• Monitor accounts receivable with outside billing company.
• Pursue past due accounts and maintain documentation.
• Submit documentation to bill third party payers per guidelines.
• Maintain financial records including cash receipts/disbursements, payroll and ledgers.
• Attend department head meetings and stay updated on laws and regs relating to bookkeeping.
• Reconcile facility cash and accounts.
• Verify resident trust recording and monthly reconciliations.
• Assist in resident admissions explaining rates and terms, collecting initial payment.
• Supervise and oversee other business office staff.
• Handle special projects as assigned.
