Medicaid and Health Policy Program Specialist

Join to apply for the Medicaid and Health Policy Program Specialist role at Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

This position is part of the Medicaid/CHIP Policy team within the Medicaid and Long-Term Care Division. The team is dedicated to supporting Nebraska’s Medicaid program, and the role involves policy development, interpretation, and communication to improve Medicaid and CHIP services statewide.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement policies affecting Medicaid eligibility, service delivery, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure policies are equitable and effective.
  • Research and interpret federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Draft policies, operational procedures, and reports.
  • Represent the agency in policy discussions and public hearings.

**Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, social sciences, healthcare, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Medicaid, CHIP, or similar programs preferred.
  • Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and explain complex policies clearly.
