  • Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of social services experience; OR
  • A bachelor's degree plus three years of social services experience; OR
  • An advanced degree plus two years of social services experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a unit of Medicaid Analysts ensuring standards of assistance and compliance with rules.
  • Assist analysts with sensitive applications, plan in-service training.
  • Monitor case development through reviews and quality control findings.
  • Interprets program policy to subordinates to ensure federal/state compliance.
  • Monitor workflow and produce weekly and monthly statistical reports.
  • Interview applicants/recipients about rights related to fair hearings; respond to requests.
  • Conduct investigations and maintain files for corrective action.

The Louisiana Department of Health is seeking a motivated Medicaid Analyst Supervisor to lead a team of Medicaid Analysts and ensure high-quality, accurate service delivery. In this role, you will oversee workflow, maintain compliance with state and federal policies, support staff with complex cases, monitor case quality, provide in-service training, and handle reviews, investigations, and fair-hearing inquiries. Six years of social services experience; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of social services experience; OR

A bachelor's degree plus three years of social services experience; OR

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:
  • SupervisesaunitofMedicaidAnalystswithresponsibilityforthemaintenanceofacceptable standardsofassistance. Ensuresstrictadherencetoallrulesandregulationsbyallpersonnelintheunit. Ensuresthatworkproductionandqualitymeetstate,regional,andnationalgoalsestablishedby therespectiveadministrators.
  • AssistsMedicaidAnalystsinespeciallysensitiveordifficultapplicationsbyadvisingonprocedural issues,policy,anddecisions. Plansandcoordinatesin-servicetrainingforpersonnelintheunit.
  • Monitorscasedevelopmentthroughreviewsasdirectedbyagencypolicy,previousreview findings,andqualitycontrolfindings.
  • Interpretsprogrampolicytosubordinatestoensureconsistencywithfederalrules,regulations, andguidelines.
  • Monitorsworkflowintheunitincludingcontrollingdistributionofcasesandcompletingweekly andmonthlystatisticalreports.
  • Interviewsapplicantsandrecipientsconcerningtheirrightsinrelationtofairhearings. Interviewscomplainantsandinvestigatespossibleadjustments. RespondstorequestsinaccordancewiththePrivacyActandtheFreedomofInformationAct.
  • Conducts special investigations and studies. Develops and maintains files for corrective action.

Compensation:

This position is eligible for the following Special Entrance Rates (SER), as well as a Premium Pay of up to $2.00/hr for hours worked based on longevity. Medicaid Analyst Supervisor - $24.35 hr / $1,948.00 bi-weekly
