Job Description

The Media Technician reports to the Laboratory Supervisor or designated person and is responsible for executing assigned duties within the laboratory. They have the authority to take necessary actions to ensure quality and compliance, provided these actions adhere to company guidelines and sound technical judgment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promote and demonstrate the company vision
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
• Follow management system requirements, including ISO/IEC 17025/AOAC ALACC standards and regulations
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining a safe work environment
• Register incoming samples and keep accurate records
• Enter sample data into the Eurofins eLIMS system accurately and promptly
• Complete laboratory testing efficiently, ensuring turnaround times are met
• Verify and submit results timely
• Identify process issues and report with proposed solutions
• Respond to client, staff, and co-worker inquiries proactively
• Maintain cooperative relationships and communicate effectively
• Uphold ethical business practices and promote the company image
• Strive for continuous quality improvement using new technologies
• Identify non-conformances and out-of-specifications
• Perform activities safely and efficiently
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Experience with plating and plate reading

Preferred Education:

• AS or BS Degree in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field

Additional Information

Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm. (Starting on first shift and transitioning to second shift)
