Job summary

The New School in New York is seeking a motivated Media Studies Student Ambassador to bridge the Program Director, Admissions staff, and prospective/admitted students. You will help answer questions about courses, research options, and student life, directing admission policy questions to Admissions.

The role is hybrid with on-campus and remote work, roughly 1–4 days on campus per week, and an hourly rate of $20.00. You’ll support information sessions and campus visits as needed.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emails for the ambassador account and check it regularly.
• Meet prospective students by phone, in person, or virtually when requested.
• Arrange class visits for interested prospective students.
• Attend Open House/Information Sessions and admitted student events.
• Attend monthly ambassador meetings with Admissions.
• Serve as a point of contact between Admissions and students to share information.

They serve as the point of contact between the Program Director, Admissions staff, and prospective and admitted students. They check a dedicated email to field questions about courses, viable lines of study and research, student life, etc. Questions about admission policies, procedures, and requirements should be referred to the Office of Admissions.**RESPONSIBILITIES*** Respond to emails sent to the ambassador account for the program.
