Job summary

The Royal College of Art is seeking a proactive Technical Assistant in Media Resources for the White City Resource Store, 5 days per week, 09:30–17:30. This fixed-term role (to 20 August 2027) supports students, staff and visitors with access to photographic, video and AV equipment and ensures resources are well maintained and ready for use.

You will also help keep booking systems, deliveries and repairs on track, while contributing to a tidy, safe store environment and coordinating assistance

Qualifications

• Knowledge of photographic, video, sound and AV equipment.
• Experience using electronic booking systems in a loans store or AV environment.
• Strong organisational and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the loans desk: check in/out, issue and store equipment.
• Keep booking systems and induction materials up to date.
• Assist with deliveries, repairs and stock control.
• Support RCA resource stores when needed (Kensington, Battersea).
• Provide friendly, day‑to‑day assistance to students, staff and visitors.
