Job Description and Duties
The Public Information Officer II acts as a lead Information Officer for the DFPI under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner for the Office of Public Affairs (OPA). Key duties include the creation of media relations strategies and materials to educate California journalists about DFPI through various media channels. The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive media relations program, serving as a subject matter expert to the media and external audiences, and working closely with executive leadership and relevant state and federal agencies and other stakeholders. The role also supports DFPI’s internal communications.
