Responsibilities

• You’ll shape narratives, pitch top-tier outlets, and serve as a trusted partner to founders and C-suite executives
• You’ll own the full media execution for high-growth clients—helping shape how companies show up in the press and driving visibility where it matters most
• Narrative Development: Translate corporate and CEO POVs into smart, compelling storylines that align with media interests
• Press Materials: Draft strategy documents, media pitches, backgrounders, messaging, and prep docs
• Social media: Create content for social media posts that showcase the CEO's expertise and corporate milestones, with a consistent voice and narrative arc
• Reporter Relationships: Cultivate a growing network of media contacts
• Client Strategy: Support media and visibility plans for launches, fundraising, and special projects
• Special Projects: Op-eds, bylined articles, white papers, and rapid-response press for fundraises/launches

Role Description

AUM Advisors is seeking a Media Relations Associate for a part-time remote position. The role involves drafting press releases, managing media outreach, maintaining relationships with media contacts, and supporting the execution of strategic communication initiatives. The associate will contribute to public relations campaigns and ensure accurate messaging to enhance the visibility and reputation of clients.

Additional Qualifications

• Proficiency in Communication and Strategic Communications, including clear verbal and written communication
• Understanding of Public Relations strategies and their implementation
• Self-motivated and able to successfully work in a remote environment
• Familiarity with financial markets and corporate strategy is a plus
• Candidates in the New York Area preferred, but open to considering exceptional candidates elsewhere

Compensation

$30-40 per hour based on experience
