Qualifications

  • 5+ years producing high-end conferences, summits, or media events in tech, finance, or adjacent industries.
  • Proven experience building or managing a professional community.

  • Comfort working in a fast-moving startup where the playbook is still being written.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full lifecycle of NextFin’s events portfolio - roundtables, panels, networking dinners, and flagship summits - from concept and programming to execution and post-event content.

  • Build and manage relationships with sponsors, partners, and exhibitors; develop tiered sponsorship packages and close deals independently
  • Identify, invite, and manage relationships with high-profile speakers, including founders, investors, scientists, and policymakers
  • Design and manage the attendee experience: ticketing, registration, on-site logistics, and VIP programming
  • Develop the event’s commercial model - revenue targets, cost management, and profitability - and report against them
  • Collaborate with the media and content team to turn event moments into lasting content: video, articles, social, and clips
  • Represent NextFin at industry events and use them to develop relationships that feed back into our own programming

Job description

We are an AI-powered financial intelligence platform built for investors, bringing financial news, market data, portfolio intelligence, and autonomous AI agents together in one place. NextFin combines portfolio-aware intelligence, real-time signals, and exclusive reporting to turn fragmented market noise into structured, actionable intelligence for investors.

The Role

We’re looking for a driven Media & Events Manager to build and own our events business as a standalone operation. This is not a coordinator role. You’ll take full ownership of NextFin’s events portfolio - from intimate roundtables and industry dinners to our flagship annual summit NEX-T at Stanford - and grow it into a recognized, self-sustaining platform at the intersection of technology, investment, and ideas. Beyond the events themselves, you’ll build and nurture a year-round community of investors, founders, technologists, and policymakers who see NextFin as the home for the most important conversations happening at the frontier of AI and capital. You’ll develop sponsorship relationships, manage high-profile speakers, design attendee experiences, and ensure every event reflects the quality and ambition of the NextFin brand. You’ll also work closely with our media and content teams to maximize the reach and impact of each event across our platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the full lifecycle of NextFin’s events portfolio - roundtables, panels, networking dinners, and flagship summits - from concept and programming to execution and post-event content
  • Build and own the NextFin community - cultivate an engaged network of investors, founders, technologists, and policymakers who see NextFin events as a must-attend gathering, and develop ongoing touchpoints between events to keep the community active year-round
What We’re Looking For
Required
  • 5+ years of experience producing high-end conferences, summits, or media events in tech, finance, or adjacent industries
  • Proven experience building or managing a professional community
  • Proven track record of owning events end-to‑end, not just executing someone else’s plan
  • Experience developing and closing sponsorship deals
  • Strong relationships across the Bay Area tech and investor community
  • Excellent project management skills - you can run multiple workstreams simultaneously without dropping anything
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving startup where the playbook is still being written
Nice to Have
  • Experience producing events with 200–500+ attendees and notable public figures
  • Background in media, journalism, or content - you understand how events and storytelling intersect
  • Existing network of sponsors, venues, or production vendors in the Bay Area
  • Existing audience or following on X, LinkedIn, or within the tech and investing community
