• 5+ years of financial journalism experience at a recognized US outlet.
• Proven experience interviewing and profiling high-profile figures in tech and business.
• You actively invest in US equities and follow markets personally.
• A proven track record of breaking exclusive stories with named or verified sources.
• Deep familiarity with US equity markets, macroeconomics, corporate finance, and regulatory landscape.
• Strong existing relationships with buy-side and sell-side professionals, PR contacts, and policy sources.
• Ability to write quickly and accurately under deadline — turn complex earnings releases into clear stories quickly.
• Experience working across formats: long-form, breaking news, and data-driven narrative.

Responsibilities

The Role

We're looking for a seasoned Financial Journalist to lead original reporting at NextFin. This is not a content marketing role. You'll break news, land exclusive interviews, develop source relationships across Wall Street, Silicon Valley, and Washington, and produce the kind of reporting that moves markets and builds audience trust. You'll work closely with our AI and product teams to shape how journalism and intelligent agents work together - a genuinely new kind of newsroom. You’ll also serve as a face of NextFin - conducting on-stage and on-record interviews with some of the most influential founders, investors, and technologists shaping the future of AI and finance.

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For

Required

• 5+ years of financial journalism experience at a recognized US outlet (WSJ, Bloomberg, Reuters, FT, CNBC, TechCrunch, or equivalent)
• Proven experience interviewing and profiling high-profile figures in tech and business - founders, investors, scientists, and executives - you know how to earn access, prepare deeply, and draw out perspectives that go beyond the press release
• You actively invest in US equities and follow markets personally
• A proven track record of breaking exclusive stories with named or verified sources
• Deep familiarity with US equity markets, macro economics, corporate finance, and regulatory landscape
• Strong existing relationships with buy-side and sell-side professionals, PR contacts, and policy sources
• Ability to write quickly and accurately under deadline — you can turn a complex earnings release into a clear story in under an hour
• Experience working across formats: long-form, breaking news, and data-driven narrative
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment where the editorial playbook is still being written
