Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is seeking an HAA Pilot for a full-time role in Norton, VA. You will support medical transports with a team, ensuring aircraft readiness and adherence to FAR/Med-Trans rules.

The position requires rotorcraft FAA Commercial certificate, helicopter instrument rating, FAA Class II Medical, and thousands of flight hours including 1,000 helicopter PIC. A 7/7 schedule is offered with on-site housing and strong retention bonuses.

Qualifications

• Current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate.
• Helicopter instrument rating required.
• Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
• 2,000 Total Flight Hours.
• 1,500 Helicopter Hours.
• 1,000 Helicopter PIC Hours.
• 500 Turbine Helicopter Hours.
• 100 Hours Night Unaided, or 50 Hours Unaided with 100 Hours Aided.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport customers with a medical team to and from locations and facilities.
• Ensure aircraft readiness as described in manuals, including FAR and Med-Trans requirements.
• Maintain Med-Trans and regulatory documentation and record keeping.
• Communicate and collaborate with dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners.
• Provide shift change info to successive pilot and team after recording Med-Trans change board details.
• Maintain required certifications and ongoing training.
