Job summary

Global Medical Response is hiring a Helicopter Pilot in Norton, VA to provide urgent medical air transportation with a 7/7 schedule and housing support. The role requires a rotorcraft ATP, instrument rating, and substantial flight hours.

You'll work with medical teams, ensure aircraft readiness, and maintain regulatory documentation while earning competitive salary plus sign-on and retention bonuses.

Qualifications

  • Current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate.
  • Helicopter instrument rating.
  • Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
  • 2,000 Total Flight Hours.
  • 1,500 Helicopter Hours.
  • 1,000 Helicopter PIC Hours.
  • 1,000 Turbine Helicopter Hours.
  • 200 Helicopter Night Flight Hours.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of medical experts to transport customers to and from locations.
  • Ensure aircraft readiness per manuals and FAR/Med-Trans requirements.
  • Maintain Med-Trans documentation and records.
  • Communicate with dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners.
  • Provide shift change info to the next pilot and team.
  • Maintain required certifications and ongoing training.

  • Salary Range: $102,072 – $112,280 including 15% Geographic Modifier
  • 15K Sign on Bonus, subject to eligibility
  • Retention Bonus Plans ($40,000 after 3 years plus additional retention bonuses once completed)

Responsibilities
  • Working with a team of medical experts to safely transport customers to and from locations and facilities
  • Ensure aircraft readiness as described in the appropriate manuals, including all FAR and Med-Trans requirements, and aircraft cleanliness duties
  • Maintain accurate Med-Trans and regulatory documentation and record keeping
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners
  • Provide shift change info to successive pilot and team following protocol for recording Med-Trans change board details
  • Accountable to maintain required certifications and ongoing training
MinimumRequirements
  • Current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate
  • Helicopter instrument rating
  • Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
  • 2,000 Total Flight Hours
  • 1,500 Helicopter Hours
  • 1,000 Helicopter PIC Hours
