Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a compassionate Medication Aide to assist residents with daily living and medication administration within established policies. The role requires CNA and Med Tech licenses, completion of Medication Aide Course, and effective communication with residents, families, and staff.

The position includes documenting in EMAR/MAR, participating in trainings, and supporting a safe, respectful environment across shifts and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED.
• Complete Medication Aide Course.
• Possess CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing.
• Pass two medication observations annually.
• Pass all medication cart audits.
• Attend four hours of medication education annually.
• Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Able to walk and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assists with administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice.
• Maintain working knowledge of policies and procedures.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Reports incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals (e.g., HCD, RN/LPN, ED).
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Assist residents to dining rooms and activities; ensure attendance.
• Check on residents and report status or concerns.
• Document resident status and upcoming information in verbal/written form.
• Assist new residents with move-in transition and provide emotional support.
• Attendance to medication trainings; maintain medication cart.
• Pass medication administration observations and document in EMAR/MAR.
• Re-orders medications and communicate changes to family/RP as needed.
• Daily log entries for medication-related updates.
• Other duties as assigned.
