Job summary

St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid, OK seeks a Med Tech for a 13 week in-house contract. The role involves performing analytical procedures across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and more, plus equipment maintenance and quality control tasks.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, specimen handling, labeling, and timely STAT support, with emphasis on clear communication and teamwork in a 229-bed acute care facility serving northwest Oklahoma.

Qualifications

• Current Med Tech Certification from ASCP or equivalent.
• 2 years' experience applicable to the assignment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills required.
• Good computer skills and experience with Microsoft applications required.
• Work a minimum of 36 hours per week during the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection using appropriate collection techniques and devices as appropriate for age of patient.
• Demonstrates safe handling and proper collection techniques to maintain integrity and quality of specimens
• Demonstrates correct procedure for labeling, accessioning, and delivering specimens to the proper department.
• Responds promptly to phlebotomy requests for STATs, ASAPs, NOWs and outpatients, with a supportive and cooperative attitude.
• Communicates information to appropriate areas, departments and individuals. Alerts appropriate staff concerning STAT orders.
