Job summary

The Palmettos of Garden City is looking for a Med Tech to join our care team. The Med Tech provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Assists patients with activities of daily living and maintains a safe, clean environment for residents. Administer medications per physician orders, chart care in the Patient Care Record, and assist in admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Qualifications

• Must be sensitive to patients' physical and psychosocial needs.
• Able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Capable of charting accurately in the Patient Care Record.

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks/procedures or reports to the charge nurse.
• Administer medications per physician orders.
• Assist in admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Provide morning and evening patient care (bathing, hygiene, linen, bedside care).
• Record vital signs and intake/output.
• Maintain safety and follow universal precautions.
• Support socialization activities and patient comfort.
• Ensure patient clothing and linens are clean and properly stored.
