Job summary

Rochester Manor + Villa is seeking a certified Med Tech to join our personal care team. You will administer medications, monitor residents, and report changes to the nurse in a fast-paced, supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Must have a Medication Aide Certification and CPR/First Aid.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year healthcare experience or 2 years as medication aide.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to work independently.
• Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology.

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine medications to residents under supervision.
• Observe for adverse drug reactions and report to the nurse.
• Record medication administration per policies and procedures.
• Follow instructions on how to manage medications.
• Observe residents and document changes in their condition.
• Perform tasks related to medication administration: vital signs, dosing, stocking carts, remove discontinued meds.
• Practice safe handling and storage of medications.
• Respond to resident requests and other direct care duties as assigned.

Med Tech (Certified) Qualifications:

• Someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and is capable of working independently to solve problems.


• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.


• Must posess Medication Aide Certification


• Minimum of 1 year of health care industry experience or 2 years’ experience as medication aide.


• Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology.


• Current CPR and First Aid Certification

Med Tech (Certified) Responsibilities:

• Delivers routine daily oral, inhalation, and topical medications to residents under direct supervision


• Observes for any adverse drug reactions and reports any problems to the nurse


• Records medication administration according to company policies and procedures


• Follows written or verbal instructions on how to manage medications


• Observes residents for changes and documents changes in their condition accordingly


• Performs tasks associated with medication administration, including vital signs, medication dose calculations, stocking of the medication carts, and removal of discontinued medications


• Practices safe handling and storage of medications


• Responds to resident requests and other direct care duties as assigned
