Job summary

Harmony Senior Services, State College, PA, is seeking a Med Tech to provide quality care and assist with daily living activities for residents while administering prescribed medications within scope. The role requires CNA and Med Tech licenses, CPR/First Aid certification, and ongoing medication training.

Responsibilities include documentation in EMAR/MAR, medication re-orders, and coordination with the health care team.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits assigned.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics.
• Must be in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge and a smile.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner.
• Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the administration of prescribed medications within scope.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to the position.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Report incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
• Assist residents to and from the dining room and activities.
• Check on residents, ensure attendance at meals and activities.
• Document medication administration on EMAR/MAR and Daily Log.
• Re-orders medications and communicates with residents/families as needed.
• Attend medication trainings and pass all medication observations.
